What Mobile Platforms Are Supported?
Fulcrum is available on Android (4.0.3+) on the Google Play Store and iOS (9.0+) on the Apple App Store. The Android APK can also be directly downloaded for custom deployments. Note that while you can bypass the Google Play Store by directly installing the APK, Fulcrum still requires Google Play Services.
Can My Field Team Use Both Android & iOS Devices?
Yes! Data can be collected and accessed across all supported platforms (Android, iOS, Web) so you don't need to standardize on a single OS or device for your field teams. Many organizations have a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy while others issue standard devices to simplify training and onboarding.
Can I Use Fulcrum While Offline?
Yes! Fulcrum can be used offline in fully disconnected environments to collect data. Data is stored on the device and can synced back to the cloud once you reach wi-fi or cellular coverage.
How Does Mobile Synchronization Work?
Fulcrum supports both auto-sync and manual sync modes. When auto-sync is enabled, Fulcrum will attempt to push changes from the mobile app to the server immediately after a record edit has been saved a new record has been created and saved. You can also tap the sync button to manually force a full sync, pushing your changes up and pulling down any changes from the server. There are also several media sync settings to control when media files are uploaded (cellular or Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi only, manual only, etc.). These options can help reduce sync time and bandwidth usage when collecting lots of photos and/or video.
How Does Fulcrum Capture Location?
In order to optimize battery run time, Fulcrum only activates the device GPS when you are editing a record or viewing the map. When creating new records in the field, the GPS location is immediately captured upon record creation. You can also manually set or edit the location using the map or known coordinates.
