How Are Fulcrum Organizations Administered?
Fulcrum was designed specifically for collaborative data collection. Managing users, apps, and records can all be accomplished via the Fulcrum web-based admin tools. Learn more about how Plans, Members, Organizations, and Roles work by visiting our Administration Overview.
Can I Edit An Active App?
You can edit apps that are in use, but be aware that some destructive changes can cause data loss. See here for additional information and a list of non-destructive changes and additional notes on editing apps.
How Does Fulcrum Work With Multiple Users?
Multiple users can simultaneously collect data using the same app within Fulcrum. When different users make changes to the same records on plans with Automated Conflict Prevention, our intelligent conflict prevention will assemble all of the versions together and eliminate conflicts. This is essential for multi-user collection scenarios and works across all devices and platforms.
If your plan does not have Automated Conflict Prevention and more than one user is editing the same record at the same time, the last person to sync the record will have their edits retained. When you do have multiple people editing the same records make sure that they coordinate between each other to ensure that they do not overwrite any data that they collected.
What Is Record Assignment?
You can assign specific records to users within your organization. When a record is assigned to a user, only that user, users with either the system manager or owner role, or any custom roles that can "assign records" will be able to view or edit that record. Record auto-assignment can also be enabled at the app level. Once enabled, records will automatically be assigned to the user account that creates the record.
Record Assignment can be useful for ensuring that each team member gets assigned specific pieces of work or to ensure that confidential data is only seen by qualified users.
